Canadian Franchise Association

May 2008
– M&M won a Gold Frankie Award, presented by the Canadian Franchise Association, awarded to franchises for excellence in advertising. M&M received the award in the following category: Internet/Website Design.

May 2006 – M&M won four Gold Frankie Awards, presented by the Canadian Franchise Association, awarded to franchises for excellence in advertising. M&M received the awards in the following categories: Brochures (Commercial/Retail); Radio Commercial; Media Campaign; and Television Commercial.

May 2005 – Received the Canadian Franchise Association’s “Corporate Citizen Award” for our charity work with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada.

February 1999 - M&M Meat Shops is one of the co-recipients of the CFA's first Corporate Citizenship Award, honouring M&M for its nation-wide support of hundreds of charities in addition to the CCFC.

November 1995 - Recognized as Canada's number one franchise when it received the Canadian Franchise Association's "Award of Excellence in Franchise Relations" for the second time.

November 1994 - Received the Canadian Franchise Association's (CFA) "Hall of Fame" award for franchiser/franchise industry relations and a Gold Frankie Award.

November 1992 - Received the Canadian Franchise Association's first annual "Award of Excellence in Franchise Relations".


Canada's "50 Best Managed Companies"

December 2008
– M&M is among Canada's “50 Best Managed Companies” for the fifth time since 2001.

December 2007 – M&M is among Canada's “50 Best Managed Companies” for the fourth time since 2001. This prestigious award recognizes excellence in Canadian-owned and managed companies and is presented by Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, National Post and Queen's School of Business.

December 2006
– M&M is among Canada's “50 Best Managed Companies” for the third time.

December 2002
– M&M is once again named as one of “Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies” as sponsored by Deloitte & Touche, CIBC, Queen’s School of Business and the National Post.

December 2001 - M&M Meat Shops is named one of “Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies" for the first time


Other Awards & Accomplishments

June 2006
– M&M received awards in Community Relations and Media Relations from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Ovation Awards of Excellence.

May 2006 – Mac Voisin was inducted into the Waterloo County Hall of Fame in recognition of his considerable career accomplishments.

November 2004 – Received Spirit of Leadership Award, sponsored by CIBC.

October 2004 – Received 2004 Bronze Award of Excellence (Small Business) from the Canada Awards for Excellence program (presented by the National Quality Institute to organizations that have displayed outstanding performance in the areas of quality and healthy workplaces).

May 1999 - M&M Meat Shops receives a "New Spirit of Community Partnership Award" from "Imagine" - Canada's national program to promote corporate and public giving, volunteering and support for the community.

April 1997 – Mac Voisin received the "Executive of the Year" award from the Ontario Frozen & Chilled Food Association for his contribution to the growth and development of the frozen-food industry.

May 1995 - M&M Meat Shops re-entered the Guinness Book of World Records, along with partner J.M. Schneider, for producing the World's Longest Sausage at 46.3 km (29 miles). M&M Meat Shops first held the title in 1983.

October 1994 – Mac Voisin received "Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Ontario - Retail Category." Ernst & Young, Bank of Montreal, Nesbitt Burns and Canadian Business Magazine sponsored this award.

November 1993 - President Mac Voisin received the Canadian food industry's "Man of the Year" honour in recognition of M&M Meat Shops fund-raising efforts for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC).
