This past Thursday, September 20, thousands of families across Canada sat down at the dinner table together to celebrate what really matters most – time spent with family and friends – and helped raise a phenomenal $30,000 for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC) in support of M&M Meat Shops third annual National Family Dinner Night.
The community-based initiative also generated overwhelming support from more than 125 dignitaries across the country, including Governor General Michaëlle Jean, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Premiers from ten Canadian provinces and two territories and Mayors from Victoria, Calgary, Winnipeg, Regina, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.
“The fantastic support of community leaders and the thousands of dollars raised for the CCFC is a testament to the high value Canadians place on spending time with their family and friends,” says Mac Voisin, Chairman and Founder of M&M Meat Shops. “Even though our busy lives may not permit us to sit down for a family dinner every night, an event like National Family Dinner Night reminds us of the importance of staying in touch with those close to our hearts.”
To participate in National Family Dinner Night, Canadians were asked to register their family dinner online at www.mmmeatshops.com. For every registration, M&M Meat Shops donated $1 to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
