M&M Meat Shops Hosts National Family Dinner Night:
September 21, 2006

Canadians encouraged to enjoy a meal with family and friends
to support Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada

On Thursday, September 21, 2006, M&M Meat Shops is inviting Canadians from coast-to-coast to participate in its second annual National Family Dinner Night to celebrate what really matters most - time with family and friends.

This year, more than 45 Mayors, Ministers, Premiers and other community leaders have already proclaimed their support.

In 2005, M&M Meat Shops National Family Dinner Night(tm) was an amazing success, raising more than $25,000 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC). The initiative also generated enthusiasm and support from community leaders and dignitaries across the country, including former Prime Minister, Paul Martin, and then Leader of the Opposition, Stephen Harper.

Register Your Participation
For everyone who registers their participation in National Family Dinner Night on the M&M Meat Shops web site: www.mmmeatshops.com, M&M Meat Shops will make a $1 donation to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada, up to a maximum of $100,000. In addition, Canadians can also make their own, direct donation to the CCFC by following the link off of the M&M Meat Shops website.

Family experts and researchers agree that one of the most valuable gifts parents can give their children is time spent together as a family. "Studies show that sharing a meal together as a family can actually play an important role in improving communication between kids and their parents," says Mac Voisin, Founder of M&M Meat Shops. "With National Family Dinner Night, we want to encourage busy families to take a night to share laughter and great conversation over a relaxing meal around the dinner table, while supporting a worthy cause."

Ultimately, getting together for a family meal is not about the time you spend in the kitchen, but the enjoyment you receive from spending time with loved ones.

Make your Family Dinner Fun!
"With the increasingly busy lives of families, setting aside time to prepare, serve and enjoy a family dinner can become difficult," says Louise Huneault, Recipe Developer for M&M Meat Shops. "The key is to make the meal fun and engaging for every member of the family."

"Children like to be involved in family activities, so why not allow them to assist with choosing the menu, meal preparation, or setting the table?" recommends Louise. "As well, it is important to let everyone contribute to dinnertime conversation. Tell stories, catch up on each others lives and have a good time - that's what family dinners are all about!"
