Take a moment before you serve your steaks to put together this delicious homemade topping. Herbed butter toppings melt on your steak, releasing wonderful aromas and flavours to take your meal to a new dimension.
Makes about 1/2 cup (125 mL)
Ingredients:
1/2 cup
(125 mL)
softened butter
1 tbsp
(15 mL)
each: finely chopped fresh tarragon and parsley
1
clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp
(5 mL)
each: Dijon mustard, lemon juice
Preparation:
In medium bowl, mix ingredients until well combined. Let stand at least 1 hour before using. Place about 2 tsp (10 mL) butter on top of steak just before serving.
To store: spoon butter onto plastic wrap; shape into log about 1 1/2-inches (3.5 cm) in diameter. Wrap tightly. Refrigerate up to 1 to 2 weeks, freeze up to 6 months. To use, soften slightly, slice into 1/4-inch (5mm) rounds.
