A perennial favourite, this traditional soup is topped with croutons and shredded Swiss cheese for a taste straight from the bistro. A classic main course or appetizer. Sold individually.
NOTE: Prepare soup from the frozen state. Remove all packaging prior to cooking. Ensure product is thoroughly heated (165°F/74°C) before serving. Since appliances vary, the instructions below are guidelines only.
OVEN: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place frozen unpackaged soup in an oven-proof bowl, with cheese facing up, and heat for about 40 minutes.
MICROWAVE (1000 W): (Please note, when cooked in microwave oven, the cheese will become mixed into the soup.) Place frozen unpackaged soup in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 7 to 9 minutes for 1 soup (12 to 13 minutes for 2 soups). For a golden brown cheese topping, shred some of your favourite cheese on top and broil in a conventional oven for 2 minutes after removing soup from microwave oven.
SUGGESTION: For extra flavour, add about 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of white wine or sherry during heating.
